Denmark to be backed by almost 8,000 fans for Euro 2020 semi-final against England at Wembley after UK-based supporters’ rush to snap up extra allocation
Denmark will be backed by almost 8,000 supporters at Wembley for Wednesday night’s European Championship semi-final.
The Danish FA were initially given around 6,500 tickets to sell to UK-based supporters ahead of the clash with England.
All of those were quickly snapped up, and another 1,400 have been asked for, which means that Kasper Schmeichel and Co can rely on staggering levels of support in an expected 60,000 reduced-capacity crowd.

The number will dwarf the 1,500 figure sold to UK-based Germany supporters for England’s last match under the arch. Gareth Southgate’s side received almost total backing from the vast majority of the 40,000 present at the last-16 clash which they won 2-0.
It had been hoped that a similar atmosphere would greet the Three Lions for the semi-final.
But the Danes, riding a huge wave of emotional support following the collapse of Christian Eriksen, will have significant backing on what promises to be a raucous night.
